HOMEMADE CINNAMON NUTELLA!! YUM!

In 10 minutes make your own Nutella…forget the extra fats, sugars, and preservatives! So easy, delicious, and MUCH better for you to boot!

Here is another quick holiday dessert idea: Home made Nutella…IE chocolate and hazelnut spread.

On this chilly winter’s day I’ve been experimenting with healthier Monkey Bread Recipes for my Xmas blog. Today’s attempt included…you betcha…home made nutella. I have tried this many times before but, never remembered to blog about it. This could NOT be any easier to do.

The things you will need:  hazelnuts, almond milk, 80% or higher chocolate, Cinnamon,Vanilla Extract, Sweetner (date sugar, pure sugar cane, molasses, honey, etc), and your food processor! It takes about 10 minutes to do from start to finish! Yes, that’s it.

First, I grate my chocolate using the grating disc for my food processor…want it to be a nice powdery consistency and that disc does the trick. You can also grate it by hand or buy chocolate that is already in powder form. Second, I took my hazelnuts and dry roasted them in a pan on the stove. If you are me then you can start this while you are grating your chocolate to kill two birds with one stone. When the nuts start getting fragrant turn off. Third, place the regular chopping blade into the food processor. Add the hazelnuts and chocolate. Blend together until the nuts begin to become “butter”. Fourth, add in the Almond Milk, Cinnamon and Sweetner. Then continue to blend for another 1-3 minutes until well incorporated and smooth. Viola!

I love this spread! It’s great for creating so many fun desserts on the fly. Try it on Bananas, Green Apples, or Strawberries as a dip for starters! The best part of it there are no preservatives, additives, and YOU control the sugar and extra fats. If you noticed I did not add any extra oils to my recipe or a lot of sugar. Also by adding cinnamon to the recipe you gain a natural blood sugar stabilizer to boot. I hope you enjoy!!!

Bon Appetit.
